Broken Trust

There was nothing strange about that day
No sign of anything sinister

She was safe
..or atleast thought she was.

“Hi”
He said with a smile
The kind of smile that concealed all darkness
Warm
Radiant

Hook, line , sinker
She was caught in his gaze

There was nothing strange about that day
Everyone was festive
Merry
Jolly

A birth was celebrated
Cakes and sweets
Drinks and snacks
It was A feast
No sign of anything sinister

“Need some help?”
He said from behind
The air from his mouth
Air so warm,
Hit the back of her neck.

“No thanks” she smiled

There was nothing strange about that day
Song and dance were the order
Giggles and smiles
How beautiful it was
No sign of anything sinister

After being busy all day
She sat down to have her glass of wine…..

Blank

Her head is pounding,
The sun rays penetrating the tiny open space by the window
Her shoes seemed as if they were taken off as she stepped in
So properly aligned by the door
Her leggings are torn

“We missed you last night”

A voice said by the door

She doesn’t recall leaving
She couldn’t even ask what the woman meant

Something felt different
She felt impure
She felt empty

A message popped on the screen
“Last night was great”

Tears flowed down her face….
